Meet the Leaders

Caasi has been involved at Hopewell since 2016 and came on staff in November of 2020. Caasi is passionate about creating a safe space for student to be themselves. Caasi believes that students should have a space to be authentically and unapologetically themselves. They need those safe spaces to learn, grow, worship, share, discuss, and form a relationship with God. Caasi is the youngest of 8 siblings and has 20 nieces and nephews making him the self-proclaimed “fun uncle”. Caasi is passionate about mental health, communication, relationships, and the enigma that is the language of teens. (or “teenspeak” as he calls it) In his free time Caasi writes music, plays board games, video games, and enjoys rooting for the Boston Celtics! His favorite thing about Student Ministry is hearing the perspectives they have, that he has never heard before. Caasi says, "Students teach us more than we could teach them, and for some reason I get to to this. I get the absolute privilege of walking alongside them as they journey towards Jesus. I’m so lucky.”

Hillary has been coming to events at Hopewell throughout the last ten years and has been attending regularly since 2021. As the Assistant to the Director of Student Ministries, Hillary says she feels blessed to be working with the ministry in this way. She loves having the privilege of working alongside some of the best people, communicating to parents and being a part of the events with our amazing students and leaders. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her four children and their dog Baxter, hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, and gardening. Helping and working with teens is her passion, as she also works full-time at Downingtown West High School with guidance and counseling. Her favorite things to do with Catalyst Student Ministries are the retreats and mission trips, especially the ones in the summer and working alongside the confirmands as they continue in their journey toward growing closer to God.

NAME: Maryanne “Momma” Bishop
NUMBER OF YEARS AT HOPEWELL: 29
NUMBER OF YEARS VOLUNTEERING IN YOUTH MINISTRY: almost 28
ABOUT ME: I grew up in Oreland PA, moved to Savannah GA my senior year in High School, which is where I met my husband before moving back to PA – lived in York PA for a few years and then settled in Blue Bell PA for my job.  I married Ed Bishop 28 years ago.  We have 3 children together: Brandon (25), Faith (22) and Emily “Jax” (16).  We live in Chester Springs in a 200+ year old farmhouse.  If you ever want to hear a really funny story, ask Arnie Kring to tell you about when we bought the house. Ed and I were married at Hopewell and the then senior pastor, Richard Conner, explained he had a “need” for a young person to lead Youth.  I agreed to do so if my husband was welcome as well.  And the first thing I did with the youth was attend a Good Works Summer Work Camp in the Summer of 1995.  That trip changed my life!!  I LOVED volunteering and working in mission with teens.  They were so inspiring!  Ed and I have served on many youth mission trips since then.  At first as work crew leaders.  The past several years we have been the Kitchen staff. We enjoy feeding the kids and the adults on the trips.  It’s a blessing to us to serve in this way. I also have a full-time job as a Senior Client Executive for Change Healthcare. In my years at Hopewell, I have served in many ways: Staff Parish Relations, Church Council Chair, Finance Committee, Beyond the Walls Chair, Sunday School teacher. UMYF Youth Leader, I have been on mission trips to South Africa and Haiti, but what I LOVE most is working with teens!  Seeing them meet, grow to know and live a life in Christ is the biggest blessing this life has to offer!
